OzDES Data Releases
Over six observing seasons, starting in 2013, OzDES used the 2dF fibre positioner and AAOmega spectrograph on the 3.9-metre Anglo-Australian Telescope to monitor 771 AGN, classify hundreds of transients, and obtain redshifts for thousands of galaxies within the 10 deep fields of the Dark Energy Survey.
The OzDES survey is described in three papers
- Yuan et al. 2015: Up to the end of year 1.
- Childress et al. 2017: Up to the end of year 3 and the first OzDES data release.
- Lidman et al. 2020: Years 4, 5, and 6, and the second OzDES data release.
OzDES is a spectroscopic survey that samples the time domain. Some targets have been observed dozens of times.
The first data release contained our first catalogue of 14, 693 redshifts.
The second data release includes both redshifts and spectra. We include both co-added spectra, and the individual epochs. In total, there are over 300,000 spectra in the second OzDES data release and approximately 30,000 redshifts.
