Terms of Reference

The Data Central Science Advisory Committee (SAC) provides strategic guidance to the Data Central team. SAC guidance lies in the areas of

  1. Data Central community engagement, which may encompass support of appropriate datasets, user requirements and interaction, and related community activities, such as workshops; and
  2. Data Central strategic planning, encompassing plans for growth, engagement with other data centres nationally and internationally, and activities related to funding support and opportunities.

As a science driven advisory committee, guidance in these areas will be provided in the context of enhancing and maximising the scientific impact of the Data Central facility. The SAC activities are conducted virtually, through email or videoconferencing, with an aim to have one formal annual meeting to facilitate strategic planning, and additional discussions periodically as required.
