Cone Search

The cone search allows users to search within a specified radius around a set of coordinates, returning up to 5000 records of astronomical sources from the Data Central Archive (including the AAT observation logs). View and download the results.

Syntax

RA/Dec ra, dec

The cutout supports wide variety of input formats for coordinates:

  • degrees (10.2345d)
  • sexagesimal degrees (1:2:30.43d)
  • sexagesimal hours (1 2 0 hours)
  • degree, arcmin, and arcsec (1d2m3.4s)
  • hour, minute, second (-1h2m3s)

Don't forget to include the string format identifier, e.g., for coordinates in degrees, append 'd'. See astropy's angle documentation for a list of all possible formats.

Frame frame

Specify the reference frame for your input coordinates (equatorial, ICRS, ecliptic, Galactic, or supergalactic).

Equinox equinox

Specify the equinox of your input RA, Dec (default j2000).

Radius radius (arcsec)

Radius of the search, maximum 3600", minimum 0.01"

Data Sets data_sets

Choose which data sets to query.

Band band

Generate an image of the field (if available) from the selected band. Source positions will be overlaid.
